Top 10 Lost Formula One Circuits

Down memory lane we go, shame they're lost to F1. My most fav track at No 1.
I watched the 74 race at Brands when Jody won.  :yahoo:

I had hoped to get to see a race at No 10 before it fell off the calendar.  :'(

I would love to see a Formula race in the Macau street circuit.
Avus - Germany, may seems like a bit pointless with such insane straights, but still would have added some straight speed records.
Donnigton - UK, because I always felt its more exciting to see a race in this circuit than Brands Hatch. I would have said Millbrook, but that is really too old.
Watkins Glen/ Detroit/Indianapolis - USA as so many to choose from, the least I miss is Long Island.

Saw the GP at the Glen in '78, and Long Beach in '81 and '82. Watkins Glen was a much better track for racing or watching, but Long Beach is a better place to hold a race. The crowds were huge, lots of celebs and non racing events.

I'm glad to see they included Zanvoort, Mosport & Imola. I think I might have chosen Clermont-Ferrand over Rouen for France. That would be a close call, though.

I can think of several U.S.G.P. venues that were better than Long Beach. I couldn't care less about pretty building & pop stars at races. Lonny already mentioned The Glen. Sebring and lost, legendary Riverside would be better choices, too.

And, of course, the greatest: The Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

I would love to just see an F1 race nowadays. These things are getting too expensive for me :(

I used to walk through the woods to watch Hockenheim for free for a number of years in late 80s/early 90s. You didn't get to see a lot as you could only get to the side of the long straights like this, so the cars went passed in about a second. But they were only about 5 meters away so it was LOUD!   :)

Never saw F1 at Riverside, but did see Can-Am, IMSA, and AMA motorcycles there. A great circuit.

That was a good list of tracks.  I wonder if the Netherlands may look to stage a Grand Prix again, in view of the Verstappen factor?
