Vettel goes F1 racing in his socks

No not for fashion but to improve performance
- also saves tying his laces. :D

Vettel began using racing 'socks' rather than traditional boots at the Russian GP, he intended to start using Puma's specially-developed, one piece and laceless racing sock in Australia. However as the socks required homologation they have only recently been approved by the FIA.

I love easy shoes...Crocs, sandals, loafers are my choice depending on temperature and activity, but of course you need something a bit tighter for sport, so it would be interesting to see how well these perform.  I'd love a sock that I need a shoehorn to get on.

They might be good for driving, but the soles look a bit thin for walking. No protection at all.

I don't think it's proper to call them socks unless one of them disappears in the laundry.

The current racing boots have a thin strip of leather, not much protection there either.

The laundry could pose a problem if the FIA restricts them to 4 pair/season with an extra grid drop if they mix colours with whites.

Don't go giving them any ideas, Jeri!  I remember back in the 90's (I think) the NFL fined the Cincinnati Bengals for having droopy socks.
