Stewart, Gordon and Patrick made no secret of the fact that NASCAR offered more money and more exposure than IndyCar. I think Danica is on her last legs; Stewart-Haas had difficulty finding sponsors for her this year. Despite never winning, she has been a pretty solid mid pack runner over her career.

It's hard to blame them for going where the money is.

I feel like most NASCAR drivers are true racing fans, and would love to race F1, the Indy500 and LeMans if they had the opportunity, and I'm sure the best of them would do well, if they got there at the right stage of their career.

Listening to JB's interview after the race he didn't enjoy the race itself, he was disappointed he broke the car and when asked if it had given him an appetite to return he answered a most definite no. I think that's it for JB myself.

Quite right Rob I think the next time we see JB driving it'll be Le Mans as his F1 time is obviously over.

Not only that, but in sports car racing they can actually pass each other.

I've seen a GTE-Pro car win its class from last (Fisico, Gimmi Bruni and Toni Vilander in 2012), so I'm rather inclined to agree :D

There will be no return for Button.  He was clearly not overly thrilled to be back and while he delivered a solid performance, there was no spark there.
