Hélio Castroneves May Leave IndyCar

It looks like this might be the last IndyCar season for veteran driver Hélio Castroneves. Penske is expected to start a new sports car team next year with Hélio as one of the drivers. He would still be able to run the Indy 500. Montoya might also go over to the new effort.

One Castroneves number that is hard to believe: Number of IndyCar championships - 0.

Helio is a bit like Gurney, always finds bad luck. There were plenty of times when Penske wasn't the best team either. Not sure why Penske wants to make a move now, none of his other drivers is exactly burning up the Championship.

Helio's break came when Greg Moore passed.  Penske tracked down Helio and offered him Greg Moore's contract.  (Signing a contract written for someone else (and not understanding it like he should have) lead to troubles with the IRS for Helio)

Helio's a great racer and a good ambassador for the sport.

I think many of the older drivers are having a hard
finding sponsors. Seems like I heard Tony Kanaan"s
suit was at risk too.
