Sauber to use 2018 Ferrari Engines in 2018

Nothing in F1 has bothered me as much as teams using old engine designs from suppliers.  The 'cost cutting' argument just sounds like gouging to me.

So I'm excited that Sauber will be using 'real' Ferrari engines next year.  I was hoping that Honda would run a second team, as more data will help them out tremendously, but overall this is good for Sauber, and it will tighten up competition in F1 which is great for the sport.

I wondered if Honda would follow Kaltenborn out the door at Sauber. I'd seen reports that Honda wanted Sauber to give Nobuharu Matsushita a race seat starting at Spa. Pascal Wehrlein can breathe a little easier now.

A very wise decision by Sauber in my opinion.  They needed a engine which would offer more reliability than the Honda.  I expect that we will see more of Ferrari's junior drivers heading towards Sauber in the coming years as a result of this deal.  I would be very surprised if Wehrlein keeps his seat for next year as a result of this arrangement.

That could well be. Haas has already said that they don't want Ferrari's junior drivers. They've resigned Grosjean & K-Mag for next season.
