Carbon Fibre Suitcase
« on: November 08, 2007, 09:29:59 AM »

Want to take that little piece of F1 with you wherever you go? Well perhaps you should invest in the latest case from Globe-Totter; it is a carbon fibre case, which is strong and light enough for 21st Century Travel. It was unveiled as the Tokyo Design Week.

Globe-Trotter are calling this case the single most important development in its 110 year history. So it must be really special. The case is to be released in January and more info will be available then

Reminds me of Senna's carbon fibre brief case.  He was in a helicopter with Gerhard Berger telling him how much it cost and how it was indestructible.  Berger opened the door and chucked it out.  Just to see if it really was indestructible.  Can't imagine anyone of the grid nowadays doing anything so non-corporate.

I wonder what the reaction nowadays to one of Villeneuve and Pironi's drives from Monaco to Maranello.  They used to have bets on who could keep the throttle on the floor the longest.  I can't remember where I read an account of one of those drives with Villeneuve on the verge sideways but with the throttle still nailed to the floor on his company 308.

There is no such thing as indestrucible luggage these days. Even if you would weld a handle on an Abrams Main Battle Tank, the inspection apes at the TSA would find a way to break it. I know this first hand.

I agree, but carbon cases are damn hard..
I bought one some time ago, indeed it was light, but damn, I once hit a door with it...end result, case 1 door 0, such a mess, I offered it to my wife :D
