Title: Vettel moves up another notch in my books

Count me amongst the F1 fans who loved to hate Vettel's entitled attitude when he was winning championships.

However, in the following years, I've learned more about Vettel, and I like him more and more.  He's apparently a great guy behind closed doors.  He values everyone on the team.

And now he's lost his patience for F1 reporters asking "s***" questions trying to manufacture a story.  Not everyone can win a race and still find the gusto to chew out someone trying to make their rival look bad.

Well done Seb!  :good:

Nice...I have to agree.  Even publicly, Seb has become much easier on the ears and eyes.  I’m starting to wonder if Mark Webber wasn’t really the dickhead behind the scenes at RBR during their years together, or Vettel has turned a new leaf.   ;) ;)

I think nearly all drivers try things now that the drivers of 40 or 50 years ago would not have tried, because the cars and circuits today are so safe there are few consequences if it doesn't work. Max should have known Lewis of all people wasn't yielding in that situation. Drivers are supposed to leave a car width in passing attempts, but how often do you see them drive right over someone's nose? And after all the times Lewis ran Nico off the outside of a corner, many times at this very track, he should not remark about lack of respect. Compared to the legends of years gone by, I have little liking for most of today's drivers.

I'm pretty sure it's more a case of Vettel turning over a new leaf ... or simply maturing and being comfortable in his own skin.  Maybe learning some Italian helped his case!  :DD

Seriously though, I also loved to hate him in the RB days, but apart from a few isolated incidents, he carries himself in a much better way over the last 2-3 years.

All the best,
Cal :)

I think Seb has mellowed a bit with age. Good on him.

Also, I wonder how many F1 people don't care much for Max.

I do think he has matured/mellowed quite well in the last couple of years.  He seems to know instinctively, when to be serious, when to joke and when to criticise!

... however, I still think he runs like a girl (thinking back to the podium switch with Max).

All the best,
Cal :)
