Tiago Monteiro to join Spyker Next Season

The 30-year-old Portuguese saw Adrian Sutil named as Spyker's new driver this week, but Gerhard Berger sees Monteiro as the perfect candidate for his team.

"Tiago has shown in the past two years he is very fast and professional. He is one of the drivers that is on our list," Berger is reported to have told F1Racing.net.

Monteiro himself, however, is remaining cagey on his future.

"I received many questions from fans and the media after Spyker's press release on Thursday. I have to ask everyone to stay patient. I hope to make an announcement on the upcoming season very soon
