Info on travel companies for 2010 Turkish GP required
« on: January 20, 2010, 07:52:38 PM »

Myself and my son are trying to arrange a holiday to the Turkish GP this year and are seeking any advice about travel firms for this event.

I have Identified several companies offering a package, two of these are 'Select Motor Racing' and the other is 'Motor Racing International'. Has anyone used either of these fims and if so how did you get on?

If anyone can recommend any other travel company I should be pleased to hear about them as well.

Take a look here: -
http://www.pageandmoy.com/motor_racing.aspx
I have used them before and found them very good.
I have just taken another look at their site and they are not actually quoting for Turkey is this a common theme among travel companies seeing how unpopular this race has seemed to be?
I had also forgotten about here: - http://www.formula1.com/tickets_and_travel/

Are you sure you want to got to the Turkish GP as you could be alone? ;)

Thanks for the info Andy, you're right Page & Moy don't offer Turkey. The F1 site will sell hotels and flights but only offer self drive car hire as the means to get to the track, we prefer to get taken by coach - can't get lost or have problems with parking, traffic etc. Oh, and we can enjoy vino or beer as we please. :yahoo:

I figure Turkey will offer a better welcome as there is not a capacity crowd, the track offers good action - I believe they still overtake at some places, and it will probably disappear from the calendar in a year or two. Weather should be pretty good as well :good:

Good idea not to drive yourself.  At Monza I was lucky enough that there was a train directly to the track.  Maybe you could look into public transport...I bet they'll have shuttle buses from hotels etc...

You could probably even get a discounted paddock pass, or maybe someone will be scalping theirs  :D

;) ;)  I see someone removed that post/ad.  I was just going to reply that they shouldn't be charging 350GBP for tickets and hotel in Turkey...they should try maybe 35GBP if they want to fill some seats.   ;) ;)

Try F1.com John, I got a good deal through them for Monza last year. 4 nights hotel B/B, direct return flights from London City airport and 3 days grandstand tickets for the Parabolica. All for £547, cheapest package I found.
