Ferrari tests "Shark fin" engine cover at Barca
« on: February 27, 2010, 02:40:50 PM »
Most of us have probably seen the "Shark fin" Ferrari by now, if not see a photo at this link.

For me the more interesting bits are the revised wheels, which apparently have an aero feature built into them, and the talk of a new triple diffuser. Anyone else got anymore info on these things?

Ferrari tried a McLaren-esque 'shark fin' engine cover on the back of Fernando Alonso's F10 car on Thursday.

Astute observers also noticed a different nose and revised wheels on the red single seater at the Circuit de Catalunya, while insiders believe a brand new triple diffuser will be fitted   later in the test.

"We had several new things in the car and we collected some data to see how they work," the 28-year-old Spaniard confirmed. "Now we've got to understand how to exploit them."

I was reading an interview with adrian newy i think it was, and he was saying that we could possibly see tripple, and possible quadruple diffusers

Oh dear, those fins are even more hideous than most.  Interesting to read about these diffusers though, no wonder everyone is being extra careful to hide the back of their car.

Hope they dump the shark fin, spoils the look of the car. I do however hope there is a super duper diffuser on the cards.  :yahoo:
