I seem to remember noticing when the 2010 cars were unveiled that the Brawn, oops sorry Mercedes, W01 overall length is shorter than most of the competition. Seems they may have tried to be just a bit too clever fitting the extra fuel cell and weight into the package at the expense of the balance which has affected performance.

I wonder if the thinner front tyres have led them slightly in the wrong direction as they thought it would push the biase to the rear more than has happened? It's easy though to see why they don't want to waste resources if this new longer spec fails to deliver, the fixed homologated chassis means a wrong direction at the start of the season can cost you dear and not just in money terms.

Wow John, do you really think so?  It is hard to imagine that Brawn would make such a massive mistake (at least his fuel tanks are big enough  ;)  ).  What you say makes sense though.   :good:
