Well, I wouldn't call that 'easily', but it looks like Spain got it.

Seemed to me like the dominant colour was yellow, not orange or blue like it should have been.

well, one team came out to win by attacking the ball and the other played ugly thuggery by hacking the Spanish players.

IMO the Dutch should have had two players 'red carded' and sent off by half-time but the ref had obviously been told not to, although he had to send one off at the end of the match.

justice prevailed in the end but it was too much of a close  thing.

I think that's a pretty fair analysis Sennaman :good:

thanks Neil, I appreciate your comment.

I wished the match was as good as the playoff between Uruguay and Germany for third and fourth, but I guess the stakes were too high.

I missed the finals when I overslept (it was 2.30 a.m. at my place) and I am most disappointed that I did not get to see my favourite team lifting the World Cup. I will definately watch the repeat shown tonight but half the excitement is already gone when you know the results.

I agree that the Uruguay Vs Germany game was very exciting but judging from the scoreline of the finals, 0-0 after 90 minutes, I doubt the match is that exciting.

I think Diego Forlan and Iker Casillas fully deserve the Golden Ball and Golden Glove award respectively. Forlan scored spectacular goals from long shots and he is an inspiration to his teammates. Before the World Cup started, nobody would expect Uruguay to advance beyond the last 16, but their final achievement is beyond the dream of even themselves. Forlan would have won the Golden Boot if he scored from the free kick during the last minute of injury time in the Uruguay Vs Germany match, but unfortunately his shot hit the crossbar. Casillas was fantastic with his great saves and I am sure that he will be ranked as the World Number 1 goalkeeper from his current ranking at second position.  :D
