5. No carbon brakes. One of NASCAR's best points is the drivers must conserve brakes.
The carbon ones are toxic anyway. I fear the day pit crew members start
    developing lung diseases.

A typical NASCAR driver uses his brakes 4-5 times per race.   :P

Not at short tracks like Martinsville, even New Hampshire and Phoenix require constant use of the brakes, and many drivers have run out of brakes at The Glen. The points are: carbon brakes are a bio hazard, and they work too well.  :tease:

I know ovals aren't really Tilke's bag, but I would LOVE to see one F1 race on a super speedway, and one on a short track.  (Indy and Milwaukee would be ideal...)

As a bonus, Michael Schumacher said he would NEVER race an oval...

1. Ban all Herman Tilke tracks.
2. Bring back refueling with regular off the shelf gas.
3. All engine manufacterers must supply only ie: Merc & BMW to supply only.
4. Reduce dirty air by banning barge boards and winglets.
5. Race grid set from draw, quali only to ensure 107% rule.

Hi Willy,

I really like #5 but only if #4 could be proven to work. I could be wrong but I think they use off-the-shelf gas already. I'd like them to use off-the-shelf pumps!
Kimi's back! Future double WDC.

That'd mean if they went diesel they'd be able to use those fat truck nozzles on their pumps and refill in half the time. :P

3 will never fly.  Ferrari has always built the chassis and engine, and they always will.  If anyone tries to institute this rule, Ferrari will leave, and the Tifosi will follow.  Losing 40% of their fans is not a good fix for F1.  They could always issue an exemption for Ferrari, but I'm not sure that will make the sport better.

It's a great idea on paper though.   :good:

As for 5, there would probably be more drama watching the drivers react to the draw than any mideast race can provide  >:D

C'mon, Jeri! This is F1. Since when do any of the rule apply to Ferrari?  ;)
