US track set to be fast with difficult corners
« on: August 12, 2010, 12:26:13 PM »

June in Texas,I hope the track doesn't fall apart

.
.1 of 1.....United States Grand Prix promoter Tavo Hellmund promises that the Austin circuit will be a "fast track with difficult corners".

America will return to the F1 calendar in 2012 following a five-year absence at a purpose-built facility close to the city's airport.

In an interview with the official Formula One website, Hellmund revealed that all the fans will have a pretty clear view of the track.

When asked how the circuit will look, Hellmund said: "Amazing! I have conveyed my ideas to Hermann Tilke and Peter Wahl who are the most established racetrack architects of our times.

"The area has natural elevation differences, which promises a fast track with difficult corners. But the most essential thing is that has to be a masterpiece in its suitability for fans. Spectators have to be able to see large parts of the track from wherever they are.

"The layout is just about to be finished and we will present it to the FIA in September."

Meanwhile, F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone says the race will take place "somewhere in June".

"We have to wait and see, but it would be logical to place it close to the race in Montreal and that would mean somewhere in June," he said

Fast track with difficult corners? I thought Tilke was designing it.

Wonder how long since Bernie was in Austin in June? They will have to design in bigger radiators!!

May though some good curze balls at the race!

Does difficult corners mean difficult to overtake? Hopefully we get to see some ballsy passes!

Bernie used to fly back and forth to Chicago every day because, according to him, Indy didn't have any hotels that were "up to his standards."

I hope he enjoys the round trip flight to Dallas every day.

Just use the Malaysia/Abu Dhabai/Bahrain radiators.

But, old people love the heat.  Maybe THAT'S why Bernie puts all the new races in some place hot?

Will the next race be in equatorial Africa?

Well I love hot weather, I hate winter and the cold.

Too bloody right Dare, it was 65F (18C) here in Britain today and this is supposed to be the height of summer. :'(    We dream of a few days at 100F, old and young alike.  :P

You are welcome to some of mine. It was 105 here today and I spent most of it delivering mail in a non airconditioned truck.

90 for over 2 months here and it's miserable.But

A/C costs money and letter carriers are expendable. Truly the USPS has little concern for the well being of the bottom end employees. They just want the mail delivered fast and cheap. Several carriers in my unit have had problems with the heat. >:D
