Klien replaces Yamamoto in Singapore
« on: September 24, 2010, 10:27:15 AM »

I'm sure quite a few drivers may have upset stomachs, if not brown trousers, in view of the predicted conditions in Singapore for the night race this weekend.  :D However it's good to have Christian back in the mix though, we might now see if there is any merit at all in the HRT car.  ;)

Christian Klien will replace Sakon Yamamoto for the entire Singapore GP weekend after the Japanese driver was struck down with food poisoning.

"It looks as if Sakon Yamamoto has food poisoning, and he doesn't feel well," said team boss Colin Kolles. "Because of this, Christian Klien will be driving the car this Friday and the rest of the Singapore Grand Prix. I hope Sakon gets well soon and is able to drive at his home Grand Prix in Japan."

Klien, who contested the Friday morning sessions in Barcelona and Valencia, has been called up despite Karun Chandhok being available.

I'd pick Klien anyday.

Good to see a decent racer again in F1, hopefully he can perform well and put himself in peoples' minds again.

Although I'd pick Klein over Yamamoto, I don't give Klein that much credit.  He just never impressed me with racecraft.  If he had been picked by Jag for any other reason than he was Austrian, well...    :DntKnw:
