HD TV for 2011?
« on: November 17, 2010, 08:37:50 PM »
Seems Bernie has done a u turn after the recent survey of fans stated that HD was their main priority.
Although it will improve the picture and bring F1 up to date TV wise is there any other benefit?
My HD TV is in a container on its way to me so I have not really had a chance to compare HD and non HD as I never had HD in the UK. :DntKnw:

HD provides true wide screen (no distortion at the edges) and a very sharp picture. Of course in addition to the cameras and TV you have to have a feed that provides an HD feed. I wouldn't go back.

Even upscaled ordinary definition looks better so surely it is a no brainer.  I cannot wait to watch every GP in true HD picture, the cars will look stunning!

I've watched Indy in HD, it's superb.

It's probably not possible to purchase SD equipment anymore anyways... it's probably a cost savings for FOM.

I'll believe it when I see it, and when I do see it I might pass out in a geek-induced orgasmic wet dream come true.
AndyB, once you see HD in your living room feel free to be p*ssed off with Bernie for screwing us over for the last 5 years or so.

I got the information from the Autosport web site.
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/88363
So I hope it comes true.
There has to be more money in it for Bernie if it goes ahead though.

Thing is Gene Simmons thinks everything can line his pockets.  His merchandising is just shameless!

Thing is Gene Simmons thinks everything can line his pockets.  His merchandising is just shameless!

There was an incredibly funny scene a few years ago on his A&E show "Family Jewels" when he blew his nose in a vehicle and putting the hankercheif in his pocket, casually said to Shannon, "that's going on eBay"
The show is broadcast in HD so this is kinda on topic...  :D

The sad part is, I'm sure it drew a number of bids, if he in fact did list it.
