I think I'll change my handle to 'Storm'   :D  :D

I joke with my daughter about that. I tell her that we almost named her Storm. You see, she was born almost exactly nine months to the day after the blizzard of 1978.

Hey, we were snowed in & the cable TV went out.

Pretty cold and icy in beautiful Northern Ireland with good falls of snow lying thick in places. Nice from inside the house, but it took me 1hr 25mins to get to work this morning.  :(

It takes me well over an hour to get to work on the few days I have to go and I only have to go 18 miles by car, it's just the volume of rush hour traffic on the roads. Hate to think how long it will take if it snows in the next couple of days. Last winter it took me about 3 and a half hours to get home one day.

I'm the same John, it normally take me a hour to get to work everyday. Only difference is I have 50 miles to go!! Just not the same volume of traffic over here.

My commute is brutal - it's about a 10 second walk from our house to our hotel.  If it's snowing sometimes I get my feet wet!  :'( :'(

...but been there, done that - my commute in Calgary was 45min each way in good weather and light traffic. If things turned bad it could add another half hour.

Yesterday, 30 Nov: I was in shirt sleeves. Last night at midnight it was still in the 50's.

Today, 1 Dec: I cleaned snow off my windshield at 06:30 this morning. Two hours later, it's still snowing!

Welcome to Ohio, where winter comes on fast!

It certainly has in Kent, no trains, planes or buses, no traffic hardly either, about 8ins of snow overnight and it's still snowing, hope I can get to the pub.  :DD
