I saw that a while ago. I simply can't believe one could actually control that much less even know which direction it is heading once it gets a few hundred yards away from you. My hats off to the pilot!

My thoughts too Darrell.I used to work with a guy that flew
the gas engine models and they were nice but not so fast.I
really wasn't expecting this at all,400 mph

In the hands of that pilot that plane could beat many 3rf World Countries :o

That was amazing!

My first thought was when it took off was 'well thats the last he'll ever see of that!'

Superb model very cool indeed.  :good:

Especially when it took its first dip - I thought it was toast.  I wonder what kind of learning curve there was...how many rebuilds just to get it in the air.

Very very impressive, both the plane and the piloting skill, the camera guy deserves a mention as well, it's very hard to keep with a subject that moves and manoeuvres as fast as that.  :good:

Dang!  :swoon:

It's amazing that he could keep track of there it was, much less control it. I'm passing the vid along to some RC flying friends of mine. Thanks, Dare!

That is soooooo cool.  8)

What an amazing piece of kit, and as CD says hats off to the pilot for flying it and bring it home safe. If something did go wrong at that speed you would need a good spade to get your bits back.

What I want to see now is Darrell putting a camera on it. Campbell River at 400mph.  :yahoo:

At that speed, there wouldn't be any bits big enough to find, with or without a spade. There is a local kid who is a national level flier, who flies a Bob Violet twin jet. Not as fast as that, but well over 200. He can make it do any acrobatic maneuver the prop driven Extras etc can do and at twice the speed. Outside loops, boxes, Immelmans, falling Leaf, truly amazing. They have a jet fly-in here every winter that draws some amazing planes and pilots.
