Hey man, I've got my license you know...why would I bike?

Cool idea, I like the way he put alternate ties on an angle so he can corner with even more grip (hmmm, F1 tech could learn a thing or two?).

A few years back (ok, more than a few) when I was working in Zermatt a guy bought a pile of 3.5" PVC pipe, cut them up into about 1 foot lengths and attached them to bikes on the year forks.  Instant ski holders.  He never patented it, just mostly sold them to locals for $20...probably paid his ski pass that year.  You still see people today toddling around on their bikes with the skis on the back.  Brilliant simple idea.

When I lived in Jasper, a popular way of winterizing your mountain bike was to put rivets in your tires the wrong way (flat side in), tape the inside (to avoid punctures) and double your normal tire pressure.  It worked better than this system because you could have conventional bike brakes, not just disks.  They were so effective you could ride on glare ice.  Plenty of people would go riding on frozen lakes.

We use a similar method around here, Scott. We use short sheet metal screws instead of rivets, though.
