HRT Takes Liuzzi
« on: March 10, 2011, 02:24:39 PM »
Tonio Liuzzi will get the 2nd seat at Hispania Racing

Word is that Pedro de la Rosa will go to a reserve seat at McLaren.

And it seams that Panda Securities will be a sponsor of them. Together with that multinational, what's it called... a shop, big. May be it will be something this year.

Well, I want to see who of the two drivers is the faster one. I guess in the first half it will be Liuzzi, and in the second half Karthiteyan.

I think it would have been more of a suprise if Tonio had not taken the HRT seat, I wonder if he has had to use any of the 2 million he is rumoured to have got from FIF1.

Pedro is definetly back with McLaren, the team has confirmed it. Gary Paffet is taking part in DTM again this year so wont be free to attend a lot of GPs so De La Rosa is the reserve driver.

Whitmarsh thinks Pedro is one of the best at simulator development, turning virtual parts into real improvement at the track.

In that case they might need Pedro. The MP4/26 looks not all to good.

Not surprised by either move, Pedro seems to work well for McLaren and his extra knowledge of the Pirelli tyres will help the team.  Not sure really what else he can do these days but if what Lonny says is true, it is handy to have a guy who can use the simulator to get real world improvements.

Liuzzi at HRT... Hmm, an odd move, is it really better to be at a team with no testing than to be a test driver elsewhere?  I would really expect Liuzzi to walk over Karthikeyan this season.

We shall see...Karthikeyan may just surprise.  I'm not impressed with Liuzzi, although he has shown spurts of talent.   :DntKnw:

2 years ago McLaren made great strides during the season, last year they kind of lost their way. And last year they did not have Pedro.
