Hockey riot in Vancouver
« on: June 16, 2011, 07:45:09 PM »
So our hockey team lost in the final game for the ultimate trophy, The Stanley Cup. So what do the idiots in Vancouver do in response? Start a riot naturally. After more than 3 hours of watching it unfold live this has to be the highlight of the entire riot...at least for me anyways.....

At least there are no reports of anyone killed, nor seriously injured.

This happens in Montreal too.  (Of course, you've seen the kind of marshalling to be expected there...)

Luckily, Toronto, Canada's most populous city, has a hockey team that is less likely to get to the Stanley Cup finals than HRT is to take the WCC.  So no danger of riots here.  (The same goes for our basketball team, baseball team and soccer team.  Our football (Canadian football that is) team is quite good, but I'm not sure anyone cares.)

However, I think you guys would appreciate what happens in Calgary... during the playoffs (not often, Calgary's team is almost as bad as Toronto's) they have the 'Red Mile', which is pretty much like Mardi Gras.  (I'm not sure what they use in place of beads.  Maybe cowboy hats?)  Beats the heck out of rioting...

Nice shot! Nothing like a bit of fire to take your mind off a knock on the nuts.  :DD

Most of us down here south of the border thought Canadian Riot was an oxymoron, like Rap Music.

In the US they riot if they win or lose
Mark Twain once opined, "it's easier to con someone than to convince them they've been conned."
