Dare:
Who was the youngest, between the two Mexican brothers Ricardo and Pedro Rodriguez?

  *    Ricardo Rodriguez & Rodriguez & Ricardo. Born in 1942, Ricardo also died before his older brother in 1962, driving a Lotus 24 in the non-championship Mexican Grand Prix.

Nelson Piquet was a very entertaining man. He lived up to his reputation by kicking and punching a fellow driver on live television, after the two of them had collided. Who was the other driver?

  *    Eliseo Salazar. Poor Salazar. This rather embarrassing event took place at the 1982 German Grand Prix. Eliseo moved to IndyCars in the 1990s.

The Argentinian driver Froilan Gonzalez, had quite an unique nickname. What was it?

  *    Pampas Bull. Because of his big, burly build.

In 1984, Ayrton Senna developed an affliction which became quite a worry for the Lotus team, as they had just signed him. What was the name of this condition?

  *    Bell's palsy. This affected his facial muscles, and he was unable to close one of his eyes. Peter Warr, Lotus Team boss was obviously very concerned about this. But as we all know, he recovered sufficiently to race with Lotus the next season.

The South African Grand Prix was last held in what year of the 20th century?

 *     1993. Alain Prost won that race at the Kyalami circuit, but I will always remember it for the masterful drive by Ayrton Senna.

Who was blamed for causing the accident at Monza in 1978, which later tragically claimed the life of Ronnie Peterson?

 *     Riccardo Patrese. Patrese was known as bit of a wild man in his early days, but to be fair to him I think it was just a tragic sequence of events.

Which corner at Monza, where Derek Warwick had a lucky escape, claimed the life of Jochen Rindt in 1970?

 *     Parabolica. Thus, Jochen became the sport's only posthumous champion, as the other drivers were not able to overtake his points advantage for that season.

Which Italian driver crashed through a gate while testing at Modena, then hit a passing taxi, killing himself and the three occupants of the taxi?

 *     Giulio Cabianca. This happened while he was testing a Cooper in 1961. Just goes to show the lack of safety precautions in those days.

In 1981, the carbon-fibre McLaren was designated as the MP4, what does this stand for?

  *    McLaren Project Four. Ron Dennis was at the helm of Project Four Racing Ltd. The tobacco company Phillip Morris, who produces Marlboro cigarettes, joined forces with them and this propelled Dennis into Formula One.

Didier Pironi, drove without any success in a few races the year after his leg-breaking acident at Hockenheim in 1982, but decided to retire due to the dissapointing results he achieved?

  *    False. He vowed to come back but he never did. Didier was killed in a powerboating accident in 1987.
