Fernando Alonso has little cause for complaints following McLaren's first two of testing at Valencia, both of which ended with the Spaniard at the top of the timesheets.
The McLaren driver has so far impressed in this week's test, which heralds the first time seven of the teams, including McLaren, Ferrari and Renault, have pitted their 2007 challengers against one another head-to-head.
Alonso topped the timesheets on Day One, beating former McLaren driver Kimi Raikkonen by almost a full second, while on Day Two he finished 0.155 seconds ahead of his 2006 team-mate at Renault, Giancarlo Fisichella.
He said: "The car is fast. At the moment it is going very fast, and well, but last week we were testing alone here so maybe there is bit of advantage of having been here, more than other teams. Who goes fast in the season no one knows..."
However, even though it's too early to make predictions about the outcome of the season, the reigning F1 Champion is "happy" with the way things are progressing at Valencia.
"We can be very happy," he said. "It has gone well for the moment, so you have to be happy.
"But things change from one day to the other. Any problems and worries can return, so we have to keep cool and keep working hard."
Alonso has also been impressed with the reliability shown by the new MP4-22, however, concedes he'd rather the car fail him now while testing than in Australia during the first grand prix of the season.
"It is the reliability that we cross our fingers for. It has been good so far," he said.
"The issues we had before are no longer issues, which is a good sign. But whatever is wrong it is better to have problems now than in Australia."
