Turns out there was quite a lot of variety in the week I was born.
In the UK, Diana Ross's "Chain Reaction" ruled the airwaves, alongside the album "Brothers In Arms" by Dire Straits. Evidently the British people had good taste that week...
Ireland had the theme from the musical "Absolute Beginners" by David Bowie at the top of their charts.
The USA preferred to listen to "These Dreams" by Heart (except on the dance floors, where ""I'm Not Gonna Let" by Colonel Abrams got feet moving), while across the border everyone had "Sara" by Starship playing through their speakers.
Across much of the European mainland, the song and album "Live To Tell" by Madonna (another one I like) held sway, but in Italy the #1 single was "Adesso Tu" by Eros Ramazzotti.
Australians were listening to Billy Ocean's "When The Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going" while across the sea, New Zealanders preferred "Rock Me Amadeus" by Falco.
