Penske Moves to Ford for NASCAR 2013

I'll bet I know which Dodge team will be the last to get updates this season.

In a few hours from now, Roger Penske will announce that he will switch from Dodge to Ford for his NASCAR teams next season. He made the jump from Ford to Dodge at the end of the 2002 season. His first NASCAR efforts was with a Rambler, I mean, AMC Matador driven by Mark Donahue back in 1972.

Penske's stock-car teams have over the years won 26 races in Dodges, 21 in Pontiacs, 19 in Fords, four in Matadors and one in a Chevrolet.

I think Dodge's financial problems coupled with Evernham's troubles have caused Dodge to slip in recent years. By switching to Ford, Penske will have at least some access to Roush technology. The Fords were certainly quick at Daytona.
