Did Kimi stop off for Ice cream en route to track?
« on: April 12, 2012, 04:05:45 PM »

He missed a Lotus press call today at the Shanghai circuit.

There was a face missing in the vast Shanghai paddock on Thursday — Kimi Raikkonen’s.

"We have lost him somewhere in China," a spokesman for the Lotus team grinned to SID news agency, adding that the 2007 world champion was stuck in heavy traffic and therefore could not appear for a press conference.

Lotus has modified Kimi's car. The "DRINKS" button on his steering wheel dispenses soft serve ice cream.

Where can I get such a modification for my car?

I wouldn't be half surprised if it was true knowing Kimi :-)

He does make me laugh sometimes though.. there are a few websites with Kimi quotes but his interview with Brundle still makes me smile to this day :-)

Martin Brundle: “Kimi Raikkonen doesn’t seem interested in the proceedings going on up there. Kimi, you missed the presentation by Pele.”
Kimi (nonchalantly): “Yeah.”
Martin: ”Will you get over it?”
Kimi: “Yeah. I was having a sh*t.”
Martin: “OK, thanks for that! Obviously you’ll have a nice light car on the grid, then.”

That was classic.  On Top Gear they mentioned that one too.  He simply said he told the truth.   :good:  Just before a race it's probably better a driver does that than watch any presentations on the podium.

Kimi also said some people like to answer questions the long way, some the short way.  He prefers the short way.   :good:

You can't really blame someone for missing a 'Lotus' press conference can you?

How would you even know where to go, or who to expect to be hosting?
