For those who don't know, USA Today has a reputation of being the newspaper for 'The American Everyman'.  It is not regarded as a top news agency per se, but what you see in USA Today is a good way to guess what an 'average American' thinks or knows.

Mentioning F1 is a big deal :)

Canadians feel the same way whenever our country mentioned in USA today.

I find it interesting that the only nugget of information is that Vettel is 'struggling' this year.  No news on Ferrari's struggle.  No news on Mercedes historic victory.  The Yanks are only interested in the guy who's on top, especially if he's in the process of falling off :DntKnw:

As for the Bahrain situation in regards to F1.  Attention is being brought to the situation.  If the 'rebels' can be peaceful about it, it could go a long way to getting the support they need.  If they're not, then they can look forward to a long period of government abuse.

USA Today is really the only "national" newspaper here, i.e. it is sold everywhere in the country. There are USA Today boxes in every town, village, truck stop, highway rest area....

Too bad the only things that most Americans will hear about the sport all year is bad.
