Well done Dare and the Wiz, I like it, a definitive decision none can argue over.  :good:

You can't argue with the Boss, especially when he's right.  ;)  :good:

I think we are playing a game, where the official results determines the outcome of this game. So simple way should be abide by the record book. If officials says, Mr.X is the pole-sitter, then we all accept Mr.X is the pole-sitter, regardless how, why he has been declared a pole-sitter.

We can all argue whether the decision taken by the officials are correct or not, but as long it is official, we have take it as the final decision.

I'll think I'll take that as a compliment

I have to dissagree with Wiz as we are predicting who will win pole position not who ends up with pole by default.
Hamilton was dropped five placed due to a gearbox change in China, a mechanical fault but he still won pole position.
In Spain he did not win pole position as the car was disqualified from qualifying due to running illegally so Maldonado won pole.
I do not believe that the rules need tweaking at all.
Just my opinion. :good:

Won, lost and ended up with...is what we are dealing with.  I support the 'whoever starts the race on pole' as the ultimate pole winner.

Plenty of cars get demoted for one reason or another, mostly illegalities or penalties of some kind from that weekend or the race before.  I think we should also respect that.  It makes it too difficult to score if Dare always has to judge whether a penalty is warranted or not.

Ditto - it's fair and correct. It'll play into your hands one time, another time it won't. And if it don't, tough titty toe-nails!

Obviously someone has to make a final decission so is it to be who wins pole or who inherites it?

That decision was already made on page 1 of the thread.... whoever starts the race from pole is the pole winner.... was pretty definitive and simple... I personally like it... because, in the world of F1, whoever starts the race on pole is credited with getting pole.....

In all fairness when Hamilton won pole and changed gearboxes in
China  I still gave the people one point that picked pole.Being dq'ed
was another problem we ran into and I thought being removed from
qualifying the players shouldn't be awarded points for picking him.

In the sake of keeping some parity I think we should follow this the rest
of the season and possibly change the pole rule for next year.

Any thoughts are welcome

Done deal.  Like Dare said, we can all watch things and open the discussion in the off season for next year's game if a rule change needs to be made.
