Hamilton might want to think twice about it. i can just hear Christian or Luca in November: "Well, Lewis, unlike you, both of our drivers won races this past season."

The only way I can see Lewis leaving is if dickweed Marko budding in and booting Mark even though he's likely going to beat Vettel this year.  Ferrari would be a stupid move, both because the car isn't there yet, and he'll have to deal with a royally p*ssed off Alonso.

Lewis might not be too worried about sitting out a season.  Schumacher and Kimi have shown a WDC can come back when he wants (although I suppose Villeneuve showed that's not always true).

He's got the money to sit out and wait for the right opportunity.  Maybe like Mika he'll realise that taking time to smell the roses beats F1 racing.

I don't know...I think any top F1 driver sitting out a season takes a huge risk.  It only takes one season for someone in a midfield team to really shine (look at Vettel when he was at STR) and suddenly the big teams will forget about the guy sitting on the bench and they'll fill a seat Hamilton might be waiting for.

Seriously, I think it would be a really bad move.  Schumi hasn't jumped on any podiums yet (in his 3rd year back) and Kimi certainly signed for a much lower salary than he would have gotten immediately after leaving Ferrari.

But it won't surprise me.  If he really intends on leaving Mclaren then someone is already giving him bad advice.   >:(

If Lewis wants to make the move out of Mclaren, it will be a foolish and stupid move I reckon..

I'm pretty sure Ferrari is out for Lewis anyway, rumours say that his management were told there is only a one year contract on offer at Marranelo for next year. Looks like Perez is already under option for 2014 after another year at Sauber, Luca di M is on record as saying Perez needs more experience before he can be considered for a Ferrari seat.

well now he is winning in a McLaren ( as many of us predicted) why would he move?   :fool:

Great race, eh Monty?  Nice to see Grossjean and Perez on the podium.  Whitmarsh even made a remark that they were more worried about Grossjean than Alonso or Vettel.

More money.

Change of scenery.

Promises of future performance.

Better sponsors.

Less sponsor commitments.

I'd stay at Mclaren if I was Hamilton, but there's always reasons to believe the grass is greener at another team.

He wouldn't be the first driver to follow the cash to a slower team. If he keeps winning, I suspect he will re-up with Macca.
