Another nice car...

...spotted outside a garage near us after my wife and I stopped in at a restaurant next door.  It's an MG, but you old timers will have to help me identify the year.

The hood was open, so I guess it had a mechanical problem, but it looked absolutely mint condition.   :good:

MG TD. Early '50s, not sure the exact year. An affordable classic sports car.

The TD Midget was built from 1950 through 1953. It was the first MG sports car with independent front suspension. It was also the first MG sports car built in both right hand and left hand drive configuration. The wire wheels on the car in the picture are aftermarket. The TD was delivered only with disc wheels.

Note the small black dot in the middle of the front bumper. That is a hole for the starting crank. It was part of the car's tool kit and could be used to start the car if the battery was flat.

The TD Midget is also the grandfather of the Midget MkIII (like mine  :D  ).
