Barrichello Bashes Williams Drivers
« on: October 04, 2012, 01:11:12 PM »
I wasn't sure if I should post this in Williams, Barrichello, or Pictures and Jokes.

Rubens Barrichello blames Williams lack of success on the team's two young drivers.

"And it is a shame, because I believe that they should have, at least, double the number of points that they in fact have. This happens, of course, because of the inexperience of the drivers, who are fast, but don't know how to get the chances that the equipment they have in their hands provides them."

Have any replacements in mind, Rubino?

I saw that too this morning and was going to post it while asking why Autosport so often posts Rubens Ramblings.

Yes Rubens, I'm sure the reason the Williams is so much better this year is thanks to your tireless development and wonderful feedback as you smeared another wall with one - it certainly had nothing to do with the strong engineering backbone Williams is known for.  The fact that a pay driver can win a race in one while you struggled to even get a point in most races.  :fool: :fool: :fool:

They would not give you the driving seat Rubens, so please stop whining..

I understand that you still have the passion to drive in F1, but your are just not quick enough or potential enough to be nurtured for future prospect, so stop this crying, to get a seat at the Williams..

Sorry Cos but I think the engine switch is a
big factor too.

I see nothing to gain by commenting on Rube's Rant

You're right, Dare. Without the engine swap, Williams would be leading the WCC.  :P  ;)

Apologies Cos, but definitely fighting in the other end of WCC, fiercely with HRT, perhaps decided by who finished the most.. ;)

Ah, Rubinho, the (former) whinge bag of F1.

I'm so glad Williams dropped him even if it was for Bruno Senna.

I expected Bruno to be a little more committed and pushing things hard, but I have a feeling that he is there just because of his uncle's legacy, not with the talent of his own.

Williams is stuck with a madman and slow sloth, and despite having a better car than Sauber, because of this two, they are not there where they should have been. But I am in no way saying Rubens should be brought back. After a performance like that Kobayashi may be fancied?

I was only thinking about Kobayashi driving for Williams earlier today actually.  I think if things in Venezuela in their elections go a certain way, there is every chance PDVSA will be forced out of their extravagant sponsorship deal and I feel that Pastor will end up out of Williams.  A pity as despite my rantings I want him to succeed and replicate his good pace but without the dodgy dangerous moments.  I cannot see Sir Frank keeping him around without the cash.  As such I could possibly see Kobayashi coming in, he 'may' be able to find some Japanese sponsorship or the team might be able to get a better deal with 'Rays' for their wheels.

As for Senna, I actually think he is an okay driver, his race pace is pretty good if I'm honest but all too often his Saturday performances mean he is always going to fight a losing battle on Sunday.  I would be very surprised though if Bottas does not replace him for next season.  Apparently there are many at Williams who think Valterri is the fastest of our numerous drivers.

Sorry BD and WF, I don't agree.  Just how do you come to the conclusion that the Williams is a better car this year than the Sauber??  Because the drivers are crap that the car must be good?  Quali and races, Sauber has dominated Williams, and shown up many a better team (remember Ferrari copied the rear end early in the season, and Sauber has shown the car manages the Pirelli's better than anyone on the grid).  On top of that, exactly WHY would Kobaiyashi want to leave a team that has supported him through the good the bad and the ugly, while he brought hardly a sponsorship dollar (I think they get free TV's or something).  Sauber has given Kobai plenty of opportunities and quite a few points (10th and 11th places for him and Perez at the moment).  Why would he want to look back down the grid for a drive when Perez gets thrown into a Mclaren??  Kobi will be looking ahead for any change of a drive, not at a Williams.

As well, why would Sauber want to let him go after the past two seasons?  He's wrecked a few cars, but what's a little carbon fibre?  He's also shown spurts of speed often enough that proves he is talented enough to risk, they just have to keep trying to tame him a little and teach him patience.  They have let Perez go, and he was the one bringing big money.  They won't change two drivers at a time, so Kobi will stay.  Sorry Frank.

History shows a driver generally runs better in his home GP than other GPs. If Kamui wants to insure his seat, a couple good finishes in the remaining races would be a good start.

Scott, wait up big guy.  I did not suggest that Williams is better than Sauber, not even I am that much of a super fan.  I am thinking in relation to the fact there is a lot of speculation linking Kamui to an exit from Sauber, not due to any crazed notion that Kamui is after a better seat.  That is all, speculation has gotten me thinking that 'if' he is dropped, then I would like to see him in the Williams next year.  After all, Massa was going around telling people that Hulkenberg and Gutierrez will be Sauber's drivers next year according to Sky. So anything is possible.

I hadn't heard any recent speculation of him being dropped, and have missed any Sky coverage.  I think Sauber would be wrong to let him go.

I also think Sauber would be wrong to drop him given how popular he has become and due to the pace he has.  He's done a really good job and has just been overshadowed by Perez.

Still, a move to a race winning team wouldn't be a bad thing  :tease:

Oops Scot I might have ticked one of your Swiss nerve eh? I put the word better than Sauber because if Maldonado have not been the madman they easily could have got another 3 podiums, and might have given a load of more success. Why I am staying with my point is the fact, Cataluniya is very technical circuit, and it does showcase the overall ability of your car, and Williams scored there fair and square,so I wanted to put Williams a notch higher than Sauber. Sauber is a good mid-field runner, but never in any race they look like a out and out winner, while for one race Williams looked like a true winner. I if Maldonado have been a bit little less madman, I could have said, that win in the Spain was not a fluke from Williams, but Mr. Pastor has not done any favor to me.

I have been listening to many rumors and Sauber is yet to confirm their seat, that is what making me suspicious. I guess they are keeping an open field so that if they could manage a pay-driver or someone like Perez with a great backing to fill in. Its all speculation and my point is that I would hate to see Kobayashi leave the paddock so early.
