Does anybody read Consumer Reports about cars? Canned beans, yes, but not cars.

I do. They don't value most of the qualities I do, but the info they offer on reliability, pricing, and recalls is useful.

Yeah I agree Lonny, especially about the reliability issue.  :good:

I'll still put a lot more stock in reviews from sources like Road & Track and AutoWeek. Consumer Reports favors bland, slow, soulless cars. Canned beans on wheels. If anything, a good review from them would weigh against a car.

I agree. For all the aspects of performance, responsiveness, etc, I go by R/T and others like them. But it's important to study all aspects of a car before buying and CR is useful as well.

If you're prepared to buy a million vehicles a year on the recommendations of Road & Track and AutoWeek, that would be fantastic :)

I've always loathed the recommendations of Consumer Reports.  But I don't even know how many Kardashians there are, and yet they are popular.  So what do I know?

Getting back on topic...... Dave Richards / ProDrive are rumoured to be interested in buying Cosworth.
This could be fantastic news - ProDrive (perhaps using the Aston Martin name) could get back into F1; Cosworth would have a number of new inter-Group customers; the Cosworth name may be associated with other forms of motor sport like rallying....

That is a great news, I hope the deal materializes and make the ProDrive people in F1, and if the turbo regulation remains, then a Cosworth resurgence into the thick of things by them.

Good for Richards, and great for Cosworth.
