Oh yes BD, to see an F1 car take the corkscrew at Laguna would be something else.
An aircraft landing is just a controlled crash.

I just prefer if a track ISN'T flat.  I wish Monza had some hills, wish Silverstone had some.  Doesn't mean they are lousy tracks.

Wonder if these will pose a problem for Pirelli  .
Think the drivers are sure going to know when the go over the kerbs.

Yeah looks like it. A poster on Planet F1 has been following the construction of the track, and now thats it's done he's getting some pretty cool photos. The pics of the pace cars in their packing crates and the Ferrari boxes are from the paddock in Austin. The Williams trunks and The McLaren boxes are all there as well.

Wonder if that was included in the F1 simulators that the teams are using, because it seems like it will play havoc with the suspension. And will certainly discourage taking the kerbs..

But surely that's the point BD to discourage riding the kerbs. When drivers cut corners by riding well onto the kerbs there's gotta be some kind of penalty, they will just get further and further onto them otherwise.

Don't want damage to your car?  - Stay off the frickin kerb then.  ;)

Here's a decent Codemasters lap of the track without anyone waffling over it.

Less than six hours to go until Practice 1, getting excited now. Think I'll be working in front of the TV this afternoon...

Nice one Vintly.  :good:  That first turn looks pretty good but it does seem that drivers must take it almost blind as the apex is unsighted on the run up the hill.

Wonder how they are all going to cope in turn 1 at the start?  :swoon: How many cars do we think will be tangling with each other there?  .....four, six, eight? - more?????  :D

Agreed John, there's surely gonna be some action into the blind turn 1. Also, will the cars at the back of the grid have more time to speed up into turn 1 off the start, compared to the front runners? Is that an issue?

The long triple apex right hander, likened to turn 8 in Turkey could prove interesting too. (I think) it differs from Turkey in that the cars will be starting it at a relatively lower speed. In Turkey they're already flat at turn 8, here they'll be accelerating through it - tricky stability methinks. We'll find out in, hang on, 4 hours 21 minutes!
