Abiteboul New Team Principal at Caterham
« on: November 08, 2012, 08:09:39 PM »
Now we know who's replacing Tony Fernandez at Caterham. Former Renault man Cyril Abiteboul, who was hired as CEO of Caterham F1 in September, has now been promoted to the role of team principal.

I think his test of ability will be how Caterham perform next season, how well do they embrace the new regulation. I think this team have long term commitment of staying in F1, so lets see how will he and his team manages in the coming years..

I think that they've got the long term commitment, but next year could be difficult for them if they can't somehow wrestle tenth place in the constructors' championship back from Marussia.  The loss of finance from finishing eleventh would mean that they may have to run two paying drivers next year, and Kovalainen has made that car go quicker than any other driver that they've tried, so if they can't afford to keep him, they could have a problem next season.
