It has come to my attention that some of you think that I turn into a cold hearted monster each December.   :DntKnw:

The questions for the advent competition are designed to keep you on your toes and in some cases its probably the only thing keeping some of your brain cells active.  :DD

I do have a system. I run every question past Mrs Wiz before it goes 'live' and only the ones that make Mrs Wiz swear make the grade. I find it works perfectly.  :D

So, despite Mrs Wiz having the same opinion of me as most of you, I am going to make an exception and show some kindness and generosity in this festive season.

CLICK HERE for the clue to the final advent phrase. This clue will be available from the top menu until the end of the competition.

You can all thank me later.

WTH???  What is a dingbat but a moron.  We don't know these silly games.  We (can I say we for my fellow North Americans?) play dangerous video games and at bars and pubs just drink, dance and fight (or play 8-ball).

Can you give us a hint, since this kind of game is so culturally unknown to us?

I looked it up on Wikipedia, and it seems to be a Rebus type game, but they are generally with pictograms, not just letters and numbers.  This hint looks more like a Bingo call than anything else.

To many of us over here in the colonies, a dingbat will always be the lady in this picture. I'll bet that Lonny & Dare had the same thought when they read the word dingbat.

Wiz has really gone for the brain batterer with this one, think I'll give Prof Stephen Hawking a ring.

Brilliant! It's great to see you all so keen about the advent competition!  :DD

OK here is a clue by way of a another Dingbat:

TRLANOSLSATITON

Answer is Lost in Translation

Apply the same 'say what you see' scenario to today's clue.

So far I have had two correct answers.  :good:

I will be waiting for several more hours due to time zones before closing the competition. I will announce the winner and post the answers for all to see ASAP. Please remember it is Christmas so give me a little time.

The answer to the 2012 Advent Competition is 'God Rest You Merry Gentlemen'

I had two correct answers but the first out of the sorting hat was PG_Gabriel so please join me in congratulating him on a brain numbing effort.

You may be wondering how on earth did he come up with that answer? Where is the K from day 7?  :DD

You check out all the answers here I have also placed a link at the top menu for the next week so you can keep looking at the questions and answers that made your 2012 Christmas so delightful.  :D

Thanks for playing everyone, as always you make this a fun site to run.  :good:

Congrats, PG! Well played!

Thanks again, Wizzo! Once again, you've made December a very good month for the makers of headache powders.  :P
