Where I've been for a couple of days
« on: December 30, 2012, 02:27:41 PM »
Wizzo asked if I could post some video from my GoPro camera a while back.  In the link below is just a bit of fun we had over the past couple of days away with the kids at my mother-in-law's ski chalet not far from here.

It's not uploaded in the highest definition because at the moment we are transitioning to a much faster internet connection and I don't have the patience to upload it for hours.  So, the password is 'switzerland' (you have to password it - make it private so to speak - so you don't have it yanked for using commercial music as the soundtrack).

Anyhow, enjoy...we did.  We will go back up later this week for a few more days, maybe I'll find some better shots.  It was my first try attaching it to my ski pole, so still in experiment mode.  I have a few ideas to make it a bit better.

Here is the link.

Awesome Scott, looks like an absolute ball up there. Sure is better than the end of the year at sea level.  :good:

Wow, what a family of accomplished skiers.  :good:  I wish I could even stand up on snow and ice.  :swoon:

Nice of you to share,  :good: .......... and make us all green with envy.  :D

The only "ski" I could handle would be a yoghurt.  :DD

Last I tried that in India, they keep saying to me, you have a heavy bottom, that is more than eager to touch the ground  :(

Outstanding, Scott! Thanks for sharing it with us.

You must be very skillful to be able to ski so well while holding the camera up on a pole.

When I first saw people do it in other videos, I thought the same thing.  But in reality the camera is soooo light, and easy to manage on the pole that you hardly realize you are holding it.  Takes one pole out of action, but hey, poles are really just something for your arms to do while your legs are doing all the work.  ;)

Thanks for the compliments guys, but I have to admit I have edited out the lousy skiing bits  :-[  I do love powder though.
