He was injured in a snowmobile race last weekend, he remains in hospital.

Ouch. Should be ok if it's fractures and a punctured lung. Not nice, but not life threatening.

and Canada has the Villeneuves as our First Family of Racing. 

Jacques Sr, like Gilles, is a true racer, and will get in anything with an engine and go past the limit.

I'm surprised to see he's only 59,I thought he was either
dead or in his 80's[Ian's age]

Never gave it a  thought Cos,that is scary saying  only 59 ain't it?Reminds me when I was 24 and had my eyes on a gal 20,she put
me in place saying she didn't like older men
