There has been no official announcement from anyone. This is all based on Honda supposedly hiring an ex FIA official to consult on a project. But Honda has not officially announced even that.

Funny though how VW/Audi very quickly denied rumours that they were planning an F1 foray about a year ago, where as neither Honda or Macca have issued a direct denial to this speculation.

I can understand Macca, this new supposed potential partner may add pressure to Mercedes in price negotiations, however Honda is playing a strange game if this all turns out to be smoke & mirrors.  :confused:

I think Honda would like to build their engine behind closed doors. If it doesn't have the goods, they can deny it's existence. They were a bit embarrassed by Chevy being the more powerful engine in Indycar, I don't think they want a repeat of that.
