Minardi was one of the most beloved teams in the history of F1. It was the favorite team of a fair lot of fans, and the second favorite team of a large number of fans. They were also a nursery for many fine F1 drivers. Like Dare, I have some Minardi gear. I even have a Minardi shirt autographed by Christijan Albers.

Red Bull threw away a massive amount of good will when they did away with the Minardi name. After all, how many Torro Roso fans have you ever met?

It has always been a mystery to me how a company that produces such wonderful motorcycle engines, produced such a poor F1 engine.  :DntKnw:

No one would have used the Yamaha engines if they hadn't been free. They were the worst engine on the grid. It has always been a mystery to me how a company that produces such wonderful motorcycle engines, produced such a poor F1 engine.  :DntKnw:

They certainly were terrible in 1992, I agree, but the 1994 model was actually pretty good.  It's unfortunate that they never built on that progress though.

Red Bull threw away a massive amount of good will when they did away with the Minardi name. After all, how many Torro Roso fans have you ever met?

Exactly my point.  There just isn't the same level of passion any more.

It was always a mystery to me why Yamaha made motorbikes, squash rackets and synthesisers.

Yamaha started out as a piano maker. Take a look at their logo. It's three tuning forks in a circle.
