2013 Australian Grand Prix
« on: March 14, 2013, 11:21:34 AM »
I flew in this morning to Melbourne for my annual father and son weekend at the GP. Unfortunately I missed the morning pit lane walk due to the tram breaking down and then terminating a couple of stops early when it did get going, by the time we got to the track it was all over. We still got the afternoon pit walk and got to see some good sights anyway. Here are some photos from the pit lane walk and of the ultimate speed comparison between David Coulthard, Mick Doohan and Casey Stoner. Hopefully more photos will follow over the weekend. Andy B and Cam feel free to add to this thread as you like.

Enjoy!

Here is some photos from Friday's two practice sessions. There is also a photo of the RB7 that David Coulthard is driving in the Ultimate Speed Comparison.

Sorry about the blurriness but the catch fence is making it difficult.

Great stuff, aazz! Thanks!  :good:  :yahoo:

Those last two groups really show the wear on the front tires. That should make things interesting.

Thanks Aazz!  Nice shots.  Love the shot of the sidepod bare RBR.

Yeah Cos, I was thinking the same thing.  If this is after only first practice, then the race will be messy.

Nifty shots...you figure that's gold they are using for an insulator under the headers of the RBR..could Gordon Murry been onto something all those many years ago with the F1.

Here's a mixture of photos from practice three and qualifying. The camera was tucked away when the rain was pouring so the photos are of a drying track but there's still a bit of spray around. Here's hoping for a bit less rain rain tomorrow! (For myself, Cam and Andy B at least)

A few more.

I'm sure if that's gold, I can understand them using it on the current car, would they go to that cost on an RB7 that is used as a demo car. However, their probably not short of money.

The last shots are from the race.

All in all it was a pretty good weekend, even getting rained on on Saturday wasn't that bad. The only disappointing part of the weekend was watching Webber go backwards at the start and then finish sixth. Until next year.

Aazz.
