Women lack mentality for F1 - Moss

So the guy who can't work an elevator thinks that women don't have the mental capacity to race a car for 90 minutes?

Especially odd since his sister, Pat, was one of the greatest female racers of all time. She could handle a Big Healey with the best of them. Here she is with her rally co-driver Ann Wisdom.

It's not the first time that Stirling Moss has spoken out against female drivers participating in Formula 1 if my memory serves me correctly.  I don't agree with him, and I feel that his view is rather anachronistic.

Somehow I am not surprised by Moss's statement, and if you look at the generation from where he hails, they believed women are their companion, not competitor. And also like to differ from Sussie Wolff, even if it is still filled with the dangers of previous era, I am sure she will still be here, trying get a racing seat.

Hear, Hear, well said that gal!  :good:

Well, going by my experiences with my wife it could be dangerous for other drivers around PMT time.  ::)

Stirling Moss probably also thinks women can't box, do endurance motor races, compete in ironman-length triathlons or do "10 km wrestling"* like men. Hint: they have done so, sometimes competing simultaneously with men, for some years now.

* - "10 km wrestling" is the nickname for open-water 10 km races, given because it is as much about fighting for space in the water and avoiding getting hit by competitors as it is about swimming for a long time.

Sorry to say this Ian, but it has been proved that PMT doesn't actually exist. There may be another cause for Mrs Ian's irritation.  :o

I may be young and naive (ok, 1 out of 2) but I find it both fascinating and horrifying when men try to rationalise their misogyny in an "ever so  caring and thoughtful" way.

Remember, Sir Sterling isn't a big fan of helmets, either.

(Really, I'm not joking)
