DRS zones for 2013
« on: March 10, 2013, 07:24:55 PM »
Yeah I know people do think that this DRS makes artificial overtaking, still it is a part of the game so we have to consider it regardless about our opinion. Here is a list of the DRS zones for 2013, designated by the FIA (I guess, though I cannot confirm it)

They have added quite a few from the last season.

Yeah you're right BD it is part of the game, love it or hate it - DRS that is.  :D

Should make some races real interesting this year having two zones at nearly every track. Just wonder if we'll see a see-saw effect at some tracks with the overtakes being undone at the next zone?  :DntKnw:

I wonder if we'll see some "slow" races as people try not to pass in the first zone so the other guy can't come back on him in the second.

Reading that list has just made me feel really fed up.  They're adding more DRS zones to circuits where the drivers won't need any help with passing, assuming the tyres behave in a similar way to previous years.  I'm not impressed.

I am never impressed with the DRS in the first place Irisado. I have feeling they want stats to prove that overtaking does happen in F1, so they are adding this artificial way of overtaking, so that they could say "1000 passes have been made in last grand prix, comparing that 5 before, so we have a great race with loads of overtaking".

I agree completely.

The number of times a car sails by another in a straight line thanks to DRS isn't overtaking, it's just taking candy from a baby.  It's not in the least bit exciting.  I want genuine overtaking manoeuvres.  Easy DRS passes makes me want to switch off the television.

I am changing my stand, I love DRS, because I hate processions. At least adding DRS is a way of trying to prevent the procession. May not be the perfect solution, but at least it is a start.
