I'm disappointed.  Yes, Pérez has made mistakes this season, and has driven too aggressively at times, but there is little doubt that McLaren have put a lot of pressure on him to perform, and the car has been poor.  Drivers make more mistakes when battling with indifferent or poor equipment, so I'd like to have seen him given a fairer crack of the whip in 2014, behind the wheel of a, hopefully, superior McLaren.

As for Magnussen, I remember when Jan Magnussen was touted as being the next Senna.  That all came to nothing, and he was dropped midway through 1998.  I remain to be convinced that Kevin is any better.

And now Mclaren have made it official.  Well, I'm pleased for a new promising rookie, as I was not thrilled with Perez's driving this year, and as Lonnie mentioned, he didn't give Button the respect he deserved.

Racing hard against your team-mate is considered lack of respect for him? :o :o
Okay certain wheel banging, very bullish looking overtaking, but what is wrong with that? I think lack of such driving makes F1 at times mundane, and now here we are criticizing that?

If you're making moves that put both cars at risk of a DNF or worse, you will not impress the team or make them happy.

Being a bully on the race track doesn't make things interesting. The best passes are without contact IMO.  But it wasn't just that, I forgot which race, but there was also a radio call by Perez to move Jenson over (early season, I think).
