Johnnie Walker's F1 glass car
« on: November 26, 2013, 01:15:33 PM »
Great way to focus attention on 'Drinking & Driving'  :good:

This video from McLaren sponsor Johnnie Walker was set in a computer reproduction of the McLaren Technology Centre - accurate to just 3mm - the film features a CGI model of a Vodafone McLaren Mercedes F1 car and a breathtaking crash scene at 300 frames per second that took over a week to render and produced over 100 gigabytes of data in itself.

The Glass Car is a compelling reminder of the importance of staying in control, not only on the race track but on public roads as well, McLaren driver Jenson Button said of the campaign. “Everyone who gets behind the wheel has to do so fully aware of the impact losing control could have – be it losing a race or losing something else far more important.”

A split second decision can be the difference between finishing first, last, or not at all. Make the right choice and stay in control. Join The Pact to never drink and drive today. And help get the world home safely.

WOW!! Rob Walker, family scion, was a major player in F1 for many years. He ran Cooper and Lotus customer cars, taking a number of wins with drivers like Stirling Moss, Jo Siffert and Graham Hill. He also covered F1 races for Road and Track with an insiders view I don't think can be matched today.

Interesting to see Mclaren is still paying Mika's mortgage in Monaco.  I always liked Mika, probably because he was the only driver in F1 that Schumacher feared (his quote, not mine).

I think the loyalty of Mika towards McLaren is well documented. I think whenever there is something related to McLaren, very much likely that Mika's face will pop out there.

This guy said he could drive Monaco track, blindfolded  :o :o :o
