The sound of 2014?
« on: November 30, 2013, 09:05:20 PM »
Ferrari was running a La Ferrari at Fiorano with an engine that definitely does not sound like a V12. It make a few squawks and stutters that could be a turbo. Is this the 2014 F1 engine undergoing testing?

Good find...if it is the 2014 motor, I hope it is early tests and they get it to sound a lot better.

It sounds like crap frankly.
Rev limited to lower rpm, they will never achieve the screamin' sound of even a V-8, let alone a V-10 or V-12.

Maybe they could add a cigarette lighter and get
one of those v12 adapters

Good find Lonny.  :good:

If it is Ferrari's new 2014 engine it sure sounds better than the bench sound tests from Merc and Renault we've already heard. There's hope that the sound of these new engines is only going to get better. I wonder what test mules the others are using for engine testing?
