Does Lotus Have Something Big up Their Sleeves?

We have discussed this before, but with no proof, or any reason to speculate besides missing the first test. But the last part of an article on Racecar-engineering.com caught my attention.

"It now seem that Lotus has indeed utilised twin impact structures at the front of the car but they are not identical to one another, the one on the right house the primary impact structure, whilst the one on the left houses a shorter secondary structure. Both ‘tusks’ also support the front wing."

Differences in the two tusks is interesting, but the next paragraph really stuck out to me.

"Racecar Engineering also understands from sources within the team that the E22 has a ver clever mechanism for transmitting torque from the power unit to the transmission, which offers much greater performance than others seen by some team suppliers."

If the team have found a way to put more power on the ground, or make it easier on the drivers, they could have a massive advantage. Here is the article: http://www.racecar-engineering.com/cars/lotus-e22/
