I'd rather have Bernie on my side than against me...

Were all the teams and the FIA to unite against him, he'd be forced out.  His era of divide and conquer would be over.  It can be done, assuming they have the will to do it.

Do you really think any team principal is unaware of Bernie's Machiavellian ways, either in money matters or power grabbing.  :swoon:

No, which makes the fact that he's still in charge all the more unforgivable in my eyes.

They tried.  Bernie offered Ferrari a pile of cash for being a 'heritage team', and that was that.

This brings to mind the aphorism:  'better the devil you know than the devil you don't'.

We all know what Bernie is capable of.

Since there is no clear successor, we have no idea what he/her/they are capable of.

I'm not saying that there's no one better for F1 than Bernie, but there are lots of people who would be worse for F1.

Bernie has been quoted in a couple interviews as saying this will never go to trial, watch and see.

Have you got any links for that Lonny?, Its just that this article;

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/formulaone/article-2546005/The-240m-pay-How-Bernie-Ecclestone-settle-German-bribery-case-avoid-prison.html

suggests otherwise.  Whilst outlining a possible (valid in Germany) way for Bernie to settle before the trial, it quotes Bernie and his lawyer as saying it is unlikely to happen.
