According to the James Allen website, Kimi's problems were twofold - left tire graining and his inability to deal with the brake-by-wire system, at least as well as his teammate.  He also mentioned that the Ferrari is not as fuel efficient as some competitors on the grid and that they were lucky to have had the aborted start and 3 laps behind the SC to enable them to finish the race with fuel.
