There are a few comments here that made me smile;-
twisting quotes..... well reporters have been doing that in every walk of life since the dawn of time.
Vettel is well liked in the paddock..... who told you that? He is part of a PR machine so he certainly does his 'corporate' stuff very well but unlike several of the other drivers he has no clear friends in the paddock and he doesn't get involved in the various off-track events that many of the other drivers do.

Of course it is exactly his aloof and arrogant nature that will probably make him a multi-world champion. Like a certain other German he will do anything to win. He has manipulated the team to make himself a clear number one and I honestly would not be surprised to see Daniel Ricciardo start to have unexplained problems if he continues to outshine Vettel.

I recently peppered a friend who works in F1 with questions about the drivers amongst other things.

I would say that manipulating a team to make yourself a clear number one is an asset in F1, not that I'm agreeing with you that he has essentially done that.

Also, good reporters don't misquote, that's a basic tenet of journalism. An article may of course contain any degree of bias, however subtle, but you don't misquote.
