A cause I'm sure we can all rally behind.

Count me in Cossie, those who can't shift does not know to drive at all. The best feeling I have while driving a car is always the shift from 2nd to 3rd, for me it feels divine  :D

I used to love 3rd to 2nd and then a heavy right foot.  ::)

I miss driving stick, but have to admit that the 6 speed automatic transmission in my Ford Escape is pretty sweet.

Always makes me think back to grade 9.  One classmate asked if he could drive another classmate's car.  He said he was a great driver, and pointed out he could "drive stick or standard".

Aside from a pickup truck in the mid 90's, I've only ever owned cars with stick.  But I have to admit I have recently bought a VW with Auto.  We have only one car, and my wife prefers the Auto, and I have to admit that after driving it for about a year now, I do also enjoy it.

But if we find ourselves in a position to own a second car...let's say a pleasure or sports car, then it will certainly be a stick.  :good: :good:

Well I'm firmly in the gearstick brigade, I've just replaced my old manual gearbox Mazda Premacy with another second-hand car, a Mazda 5 with a manual gearbox. :yahoo:

I'd have nothing other than a manual 'stick' gearbox.  :good:
